Has anyone started reading the book? I tried to pick it up from the library today, and unfortunately, I went to the wrong library. Agh! This book has already gotten off to a memorable start for me, and I haven't even read a word!
So I started reading the book today. I was thinking that we should divide the book into 4 or 5 parts. This would allow us to share our thoughts as we are reading, and also give us the freedom to read at our own pace. If you ladies approve, I can go ahead and start a new blogpost.
I read the first chapter off an eBook sample. They don't have it at my local library, so the only way to get a hold of this book for me is to purchase it. It's either available in hardcover for $27 +tax (steep for a 200-page book) or eBook for $14 (still steep). I've been rigorously searching online for a PDF version of the book, so far no luck!
I agree with Zainab in sharing our thoughts by separating the books in 4 - 5 parts, considering that book and the chapters aren't very long. Since Zainab already has a copy of the book, maybe she can figure out (based on how many chapters) how many parts we'll need. I've jotted down some thoughts already.
I just found it at another library. It's available, so hopefully they will deliver it to the library that is closer to where I live. I thought that was a neat service. Hopefully it works! I'm excited :) I never liked that price disparity between the US and Canada. The ebook on Amazon is $10 on the US site.
27 dollars is a lot for a book. I hope you find it at a library.
Sara, Toronto Public Library System also offers that service. I remember putting books on hold before their release so I could read a fresh copy without worrying about sanitizing the library books first.
Smart. We didn't have that at our library in Brossard--at least I don't think we did. Mostly French books either way. I'm enjoying the library here though. Finally a perk to Califirnia.

ReplyDeleteThis is my third attempt at posting a comment here. I hope it works.
